The subsequent sections will explore in detail its power characteristics, the diverse outlets it provides, its overall portability, and the supplementary features it offers.
Power & Run Time
Westinghouse iGen4000c runs on gasoline, powered by a 141 cc OHV 4-stroke engine, delivering 120V, boasting a running wattage of 3,300W alongside a starting wattage of 4,000W. In addition, the parallel capability (parallel kit included) empowers increasing of power output when linked to another similar or compatible unit, ensuring expanded energy capacity and reliability for various applications.
Enjoying a noise rating of 52 dBA (just slightly more noisy than rainfall), this inverter generator offers the versatility of starting with either a traditional recoil pull-start mechanism or a convenient and efficient electric starter (battery included). To add further convenience, the iGen4000c can be remotely started (key fob included).
The iGen4000c's fuel tank, boasting 1.66 gallon, allows it to operate for up to 7 hours with a full tank (with an estimated fuel consumption of 0.24 GPH).
Sensitive electronics can be safely plugged in the AC outlets, as the iGen4000c produces a clean sine wave, with a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
Outlets
The control panel includes the following 3 AC outlets:
Moreover, it comes equipped with 2 DC outlets: there's two 5V USB ports (USB-A) allowing you to conveniently charge electronics such as mobile phones and tablets.
With its TT-30R receptacle (TT as in 'Travel Trailer'), this Westinghouse generator is RV Ready.
Portability
The Westinghouse iGen4000c is an inverter generator and features an encased design with the following dimensions: L21.3 x W12.6 x H19.3 in. This design enhances aesthetics and helps minimize noise levels, distinguishing it from conventional, open frame products. This modern design aims to provide an ideal power solution to recreational users.
The iGen4000c's dry weight of 61.7 lbs lets you use its power anywhere needed. Additionally, its set of 2 wheels and its telescopic handle will allow for simple relovation of the generator once it's on the ground.
Features
With a digital data center integrated into its control panel, the iGen4000c provides real-time insights into the fuel level, lifetime run hours, power output and voltage, enabling easy monitoring of its status and activity. To offer you even more control and easy operation during nighttime, the panel is LED-lit.
In addition to this info, the generator's light indicators provide visual feedback when the generator is ready, the generator is on overload and the oil level is too low.
As for its security measures, the device features an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), letting you use it with a peace of mind.
It also includes a carbon monoxide sensor. This sensor is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.
In addition to the traditional documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab) to help you get started promptly, the Westinghouse iGen4000c also includes several accessories: funnel, oil, tool kit, key fob and battery charger.
The Westinghouse iGen4000c versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Westinghouse iGen4000c compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 2500 and 3500 W).
- When it comes to weight, the Westinghouse iGen4000c tips the scales at just 61.7 pounds, making it one of the lighter inverter generators in the 2500 to 3500 rated wattage range. If weight is a key factor for your needs, the Pulsar PGD40iSCO is noteworthy for being one of the top contenders in this power range, with a dry weight of 46 pounds.
- With a noise rating as low as 52 dBA, this inverter generator is among the quieter options available in its type and power range. For those who are looking for a less noisy device, we suggest the Honda EU3000iS. With just 50 dBA, it is one of the most quiet devices in this power range.
- Concerning its runtime, the iGen4000c provides up to 7 hours at a 25% load, indicating that it falls on the lower side compared to other generators of its type and power range. If extended autonomy is what matters most to you, the Champion 200977 could be an excellent choice, offering one of the longest run times among units in its power category, reaching up to 22 hours.
- While the run time is an important parameter, it is dependent on the fuel tank's capacity and thus, doesn't say much on its own unless we consider fuel consumption as well. This inverter generator doesn't excel in fuel efficiency when compared to others of its kind: it consumes approximately 0.24 GPH at a 25% load. If you wish to acquire one of the most gasoline efficient products of this power range, the Honda EU3200i, with a fuel consumption of 0.14 GPH could be in your good books.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 2500-3500W inverter generators, the Westinghouse iGen4000c is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this generator nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.

About Westinghouse
The US based Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment is a legacy subsidiary of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, founded in 1886. While the company has been acquired and merged into the American CBS, the Westinghouse name remains as the brand name for many of their electrical solutions, which stretch across the scale from power plants to portable generators. Portable generators – the main product of the Outdoor Power Equipment branch of Westinghouse – used to be manufactured by Westpro Power Systems, which was bought in 2016 by Midwest Equipment. Lawn equipment, such as trimmers and blowers, is also sold under the Westinghouse brand name. All of their products are designed in the US. However, they are in many cases manufactured in China and Vietnam.
Warranty Information
The Westinghouse iGen4000c is covered under a warranty for up to 3 years. This warranty may be limited and may not cover all parts of the generator.

User Reviews
I have this generator and ran great until I shut it off one night and the next morning it would not start. It had no spark and had only 23 hours on it. Tot impressed. Trying to find a new ignition coil but it is almost impossible.
