- DIYers who wish to improve their efficiency with tools
- Homeowners who want to be able to use the most necessary devices in their household, even during a blackout
- Camping and tailgating buffs looking to enhance their experience
The subsequent sections will explore in detail its power characteristics, the diverse outlets it provides, its overall portability, and the supplementary features it offers.
Power & Run Time
With a 141 cc OHV 4-stroke engine, the Westinghouse iGen4000c operates on gasoline, providing 120V, with a running wattage of 3,300W and a starting wattage of 4,000W. Furthermore, the parallel capability (parallel kit included) offers the advantage of increasing power output when connected to another similar or compatible unit, delivering expanded energy capacity and flexibility for various applications.
Enjoying a noise rating of 52 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a conversation at home), this inverter generator can be started thanks to a conventional pull-start mechanism, but also to a no-fuss and convenient electric starter (battery included). Moreover, to offer you even more convenience, the iGen4000c can also be remotely started (key fob included).
Thanks to its 1.66 gallon fuel tank, the iGen4000c can run continuously for up to 7 hours on a full tank (with an average fuel consumption of approximately 0.24 GPH).
Thanks to its low <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), the iGen4000c produces a clean sine wave output, making it safe for your sensitive electronics when utilizing the AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel features the following 3 AC outlets:
Additionally, it features 2 DC outlets: there's two 5V USB ports (USB-A) ideal for charging various electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets.
With its TT-30R receptacle (TT standing for 'Travel Trailer'), this Westinghouse generator is RV Ready, perfectly suited for powering recreational vehicles.
Portability
The Westinghouse iGen4000c's characteristic encased inverter generator design (L21.3 x W12.6 x H19.3 in) provides an aesthetic advantage and contributes to quieter operation compared to any ordinary, open frame product. This type of design is the most modern and convenient way to recreationally generate power.
The 61.7 lbs of the iGen4000c's dry weight enables you to use it anywhere you will ever need. Furthermore, once placed on the floor, simple displacement is possible thanks to its set of 2 wheels and its telescopic handle.
Features
One of the many iGen4000c's features is the digital data center, included in its control panel, which conveniently provides information on the lifetime run hours, voltage, fuel level and power output and thus, helps you monitor its activity and status. To offer you even more control and easy operation during nighttime, the panel is LED-lit.
In addition to this info, the light indicators show you if the generator is overloaded, the generator is ready and the oil level is too low.
Regarding security, the generator comes with an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), providing peace of mind during operation.
It also includes a carbon monoxide sensor. This sensor is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.
With the basic documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), letting you start the generator quickly, the Westinghouse iGen4000c also comes with several accessories, including: key fob, funnel, tool kit, battery charger and oil.
The Westinghouse iGen4000c versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Westinghouse iGen4000c compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 2500 and 3500 W).
- Considering its weight, the Westinghouse iGen4000c registers at a modest 61.7 pounds, placing it among the lighter inverter generators in the 2500 to 3500 rated wattage selection. Weight-conscious users may find the Pulsar PGD40iSCO appealing, as it is one of the top contenders in this power range, weighing just 46 pounds.
- As its lowest possible noise is rated at 52 dBA, this inverter generator qualifies as one of the more quiet of the products of similar type and power. If you wish to prioritize minimal noise, the Honda EU3000iS stands out as one of the quietest options among generators of similar power, with a rating of 50 dBA.
- In terms of autonomy, the iGen4000c offers up to 7 hours at a 25% load, placing it at the lower range within its type and power range. For those prioritizing autonomy, the Champion 200977 could be considered, as it offers one of the longest run times among generators with similar power output, reaching up to 22 hours.
- Run time is a key metric, but it's dependent on the generator's fuel tank capacity. Therefore, discussing fuel efficiency is necessary for a complete understanding. In terms of fuel efficiency within its wattage range, this inverter generator falls short: it consumes approximately 0.24 GPH at a 25% load. If you wish to get a unit of similar power, but with one of the best fuel efficiency, you could consider the Energizer eZV3500P, which has an impressively low fuel consumption of 0.13 GPH.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 2500-3500W inverter generators, the Westinghouse iGen4000c is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this generator nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.

About Westinghouse
The US based Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment is a legacy subsidiary of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, founded in 1886. While the company has been acquired and merged into the American CBS, the Westinghouse name remains as the brand name for many of their electrical solutions, which stretch across the scale from power plants to portable generators. Portable generators – the main product of the Outdoor Power Equipment branch of Westinghouse – used to be manufactured by Westpro Power Systems, which was bought in 2016 by Midwest Equipment. Lawn equipment, such as trimmers and blowers, is also sold under the Westinghouse brand name. All of their products are designed in the US. However, they are in many cases manufactured in China and Vietnam.
Warranty Information
The Westinghouse iGen4000c is covered under a warranty for up to 3 years. This warranty may be limited and may not cover all parts of the generator.

User Reviews
I have this generator and ran great until I shut it off one night and the next morning it would not start. It had no spark and had only 23 hours on it. Tot impressed. Trying to find a new ignition coil but it is almost impossible.
