In the forthcoming sections, you'll delve into its power characteristics, the various outlets it offers, its overall portability, and the additional features it boasts.
Power & Run Time
The Westinghouse iGen4000c's design includes a gasoline-fueled 141 cc OHV 4-stroke engine. With a 120V output, it gives a running wattage of 3,300W and also a peak wattage of 4,000W. Moreover, the parallel capability (parallel kit included) allows for increasing of power output when paired with another similar or compatible unit, providing increased energy capacity and reliability for diverse needs.
The inverter generator is rated for a noise of 52 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a conversation at home). Its starting mechanisms include a conventional pull-start mechanism and a no-fuss and convenient electric starter (battery included). To add further convenience, the iGen4000c can be remotely started (key fob included).
The iGen4000c can operate for up to 7 hours with a full tank (fuel consumption around 0.24 GPH), due to its fuel capacity of 1.66 gallon.
Delicate electronics can be plugged in the AC outlets safely, as the iGen4000c generates a clean sine wave, reaching a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
Outlets
The control panel is equipped with the following 3 AC outlets:
Moreover, it comes equipped with 2 DC outlets: there's two 5V USB ports (USB-A) enabling convenient charging of devices like mobile phones and tablets.
With its TT-30R receptacle (TT standing for 'Travel Trailer'), this Westinghouse generator is RV Ready, perfectly suited for powering recreational vehicles.
Portability
The Westinghouse iGen4000c's characteristic encased inverter generator design (L21.3 x W12.6 x H19.3 in) provides an aesthetic advantage and contributes to quieter operation compared to any ordinary, open frame product. The design follows the contemporary trends and is perfect for recreationally generating power.
As the iGen4000c's weight is only 61.7 lbs, it can follow you and your power needs anywhere. Furthermore, with its set of 2 wheels and its telescopic handle, you can easily relocate the generator once it's set up.
Features
Included in the control panel of the iGen4000c, a digital data center assists in tracking its status and activity by providing details on the fuel level, power output, voltage and lifetime run hours. To offer you even more control and easy operation during nighttime, the panel is LED-lit.
In addition to this info, the generator's light indicators provide visual feedback when the generator is overloaded, the oil level is too low and the generator is ready.
Regarding security, the generator comes with an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, providing peace of mind during operation.
It also includes a carbon monoxide sensor. This sensor is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.
Beyond the standard documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab) to assist with setup, the Westinghouse iGen4000c ships with supplementary accessories: funnel, key fob, tool kit, oil and battery charger.
The Westinghouse iGen4000c versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Westinghouse iGen4000c compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 2500 and 3500 W).
- In terms of its dry weight, the Westinghouse iGen4000c stands at only 61.7 lbs, meaning that is one of the lighter inverters of the 2500-3500 rated wattage category In terms of weight, one of the champions in their power range is the Pulsar PGD40iSCO, standing at just 46 lbs.
- This inverter generator offers a rated noise level of 52 dBA, placing it among the quieter alternatives in its type and power category. If noise is a concern for you, you could consider the Honda EU3000iS, which is one of the least noisy generators in its power range, rated at 50 dBA.
- As for its autonomy, the iGen4000c, with an autonomy of up to 7 hours at a 25% load, is placed on the low end among the generators of its kind. If concerned with autonomy, one of the products of a comparable power output, which offers the highest run time, is the Champion 200977, boasting with up to 22 hours.
- Even though run times are undoubtedly important, they are dependent on the fuel capacity to a large extent. For a more wholesome picture, we must take into consideration the fuel consumption of the generator. In fact, this inverter generator is not one of the most fuel-efficient options in the aforementioned wattage range: its estimated gasoline consumption at 25% load is around 0.24 GPH. If you're placing a high priority on fuel consumption, the Honda EU3200i, with a low fuel consumption rate of 0.14 GPH, could be an option to consider.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 2500-3500W inverter generators, the Westinghouse iGen4000c is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this generator nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.

About Westinghouse
The US based Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment is a legacy subsidiary of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, founded in 1886. While the company has been acquired and merged into the American CBS, the Westinghouse name remains as the brand name for many of their electrical solutions, which stretch across the scale from power plants to portable generators. Portable generators – the main product of the Outdoor Power Equipment branch of Westinghouse – used to be manufactured by Westpro Power Systems, which was bought in 2016 by Midwest Equipment. Lawn equipment, such as trimmers and blowers, is also sold under the Westinghouse brand name. All of their products are designed in the US. However, they are in many cases manufactured in China and Vietnam.

User Reviews
I have this generator and ran great until I shut it off one night and the next morning it would not start. It had no spark and had only 23 hours on it. Tot impressed. Trying to find a new ignition coil but it is almost impossible.
