The following sections will present you in detail its power characteristics, the different outlets it offers, its overall portability, and the extra features it benefits from.
Power & Run Time
Featuring dual-fuel technology, the Westinghouse iGen11000DFc provides 120/240V, and offers both power and versatility. Running on gasoline, it delivers a running wattage of 9,000W and a starting wattage of 11,000W. When propane-powered, it offers 8,100 running watts and 10,000 starting watts. The impressive running wattage makes this unit one of the biggest inverter generators currently on the market. Moreover, the parallel capability (parallel kit included) enables power output to increase when paired with another similar or compatible unit, providing increased energy capacity and versatility for a wide range of needs.
Enjoying a noise rating of 64 dBA (just slightly more noisy than background music), this inverter generator offers the versatility of starting with either a conventional pull-start mechanism or a user-friendly and hassle-free electric starter (battery included). To add further convenience, the iGen11000DFc can be remotely started (key fob included).
Concerning its running time, the iGen11000DFc, featuring a 7.9 gallons fuel tank, can continuously run for up to 17 hours with a full gasoline tank (consuming fuel at approximately 0.46 gallons per hour). Alternatively, when utilizing propane, it offers up to 9.8 hours (on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.48 GPH) of runtime.
Featuring a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), the iGen11000DFc delivers a clean sine wave, guaranteeing the safety of your sensitive electronics plugged into its AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel includes the following 4 AC outlets:
For RV owners with a 50-amp service, this Westinghouse unit is RV-ready, boasting a 14-50R outlet. In addition, the iGen11000DFc's twist-lock L14-30R receptacle makes it transfer switch ready, enabling hassle-free connection to your breaker box for powering your home during outages.
Westinghouse's ST Switch Outlet

The ST Switch outlet
The iGen11000DFc is what Westinghouse calls Smart Switch Ready. This means that it features a special outlet that allows for an automatic transfer of power in case of a power outage.
To benefit from this feature, you'll need the Westinghouse ST Switch (opens in a new tab), which is not included with the generator.
Simply put, the ST Switch is a cost-effective and versatile portable automatic transfer switch, which can be installed quickly and easily, without an electrician.
Plug the ST Switch into one of your household 120V outlets, plug your appliances to the ST Switch, and connect the iGen11000DFc to the ST Switch via the special outlet and a 120V cord. The generator will automatically turn on when the power goes out, and automatically turn off when the power returns.
Portability
Since the Westinghouse iGen11000DFc is an inverter generator, its closed design (L30.2 x W25.2 x H26.6 in) not only provides an aesthetic advantage but also contributes to reduced noise levels compared to conventional, open frame devices. The featured design follows the latest trends and is ideal for easy and recreational use.
As the generator's weight is 187.4 pounds, manually moving it or transporting it may be challenging, despite the fact that it is technically considered 'portable' (movable). Nevertheless, the restricted maneuverability is counteracted by its set of 2 wheels and its folding handle, enabling easy shifting once the generator is set in place.
Features
Designed with a digital data center, the control panel of the iGen11000DFc grants you access to crucial data on the fuel level, power output, lifetime run hours, frequency and voltage, ensuring practical monitoring of its status and activity.
In addition to this info, the light indicators show you if the generator is overloaded, the generator is ready and its oil levels are insufficient.
As for its security measures, the device features an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), letting you use it with a peace of mind.
It also includes a carbon monoxide sensor. This sensor is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.
With the basic documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), letting you start the generator quickly, the Westinghouse iGen11000DFc also comes with several accessories, including: key fob, tool kit, battery charger, propane hose, oil and funnel.

The Westinghouse iGen11000DFc versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Westinghouse iGen11000DFc compare to dual fuel generators of similar power (between 8500 and 9500 W).
- As far as its dry weight is concerned, the Westinghouse iGen11000DFc weighs just 187.4 pounds and thus, it is one of the lightest 8500 to 9500 rated wattage dual fuel generators.
- At just 64 dBA rated noise level, this inverter generator is positioned as one of the quieter choices among devices delivering similar type and power. If noise is a concern for you, you could consider the DuroMax XP11000iH, which is one of the least noisy generators in its power range, rated at 61 dBA.
- Given that the iGen11000DFc reaches an autonomy of up to 17 hours with a full tank and at 25% load, it is placed within the average autonomy range of similarly powerful dual fuel generators. If extended autonomy is what matters most to you, the DuroMax XP11500EH could be an excellent choice, offering one of the longest run times among units in its power category, reaching up to 20 hours.
- While run time matters, it's heavily influenced by the fuel tank's capacity. Hence, it's important to consider fuel efficiency alongside. This inverter generator has an average fuel consumption among comparably powerful devices, as it reaches 0.46 GPH (gallon per hour) at a 25% load. If fuel consumption is your top priority, we suggest to check out the DuroMax XP11000iH, which has a fuel consumption of only 0.39 GPH and thus, is one of the most efficient devices in our database.

About Westinghouse
The US based Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment is a legacy subsidiary of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, founded in 1886. While the company has been acquired and merged into the American CBS, the Westinghouse name remains as the brand name for many of their electrical solutions, which stretch across the scale from power plants to portable generators. Portable generators – the main product of the Outdoor Power Equipment branch of Westinghouse – used to be manufactured by Westpro Power Systems, which was bought in 2016 by Midwest Equipment. Lawn equipment, such as trimmers and blowers, is also sold under the Westinghouse brand name. All of their products are designed in the US. However, they are in many cases manufactured in China.
Warranty Information
The Westinghouse iGen11000DFc is covered under a warranty for up to 3 years. This warranty may be limited and may not cover all parts of the generator.
