Power & Run Time
The WEN 56450i is powered by a 212 cc OHV 4-stroke engine. It delivers 120V, runs on gasoline and offers a running wattage of 3,500W as well as a peak wattage of 4,500W. Furthermore, its parallel capability (parallel kit (opens in a new tab) not included) allows for increasing of power output when connected to another similar or compatible unit, ensuring expanded energy capacity and reliability for various applications.
With a noise rating of 58 dBA (less noisy than rainfall), the inverter generator's starting mechanism is centered around a standard recoil pull-rope starting mechanism.
Featuring a 2.2 gallons fuel tank, the 56450i can provide power for around 8.5 hours at 50% load on a full tank (with fuel consumption averaging 0.26 gallons per hour).
With a <1.2% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), the 56450i delivers a clean sine wave, essential for safeguarding your delicate electronics when plugged into its AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel features 3 AC outlets as follows:
In addition, it provides 3 DC outlets: there's a 12V 8A (cigarette lighter style) receptacle making battery charging a breeze and two 5V USB ports (USB-A) providing convenient charging capabilities for mobile phones, tablets, and other electronic devices.
This WEN generator is RV Ready, thanks to its TT-30R receptacle (TT stands for 'Travel Trailer').
Portability
Since the WEN 56450i is an inverter generator, its closed design (L23.2 x W18 x H20.1 in) not only provides an aesthetic advantage but also contributes to reduced noise levels compared to conventional, open frame devices. The featured design follows the latest trends and is ideal for easy and recreational use.
With a dry weight of 99.2 lbs, the 56450i is convenient, ensuring it can be taken wherever power is needed. Moreover, once it’s on the ground, its set of 2 wheels and its folding handle will allow you to shift it without effort.
Features
The 56450i's control panel
For easy status and activity monitoring of the 56450i, its control panel integrates a digital data center, offering insights into the voltage, power output, frequency, fuel level and lifetime run hours.
In addition to this info, the light indicators show you if its oil levels are insufficient, the generator is on overload and the generator is ready.
The fuel shutoff feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing for the 56450i to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan.
In terms of security, the generator features an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), ensuring peace of mind during its use.
With the basic documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), letting you start the generator quickly, the WEN 56450i also comes with several accessories, including: tool kit and funnel. An official storage cover is also available, as a separate purchase.

The WEN 56450i versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the WEN 56450i compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 3000 and 4000 W).
- With a dry weight of 99.2 lbs, the WEN 56450i sits comfortably within the expected weight range for inverters generating 3000 to 4000 rated watts. if you wish to prioritize weight, the Pulsar PGD40iSCO is one of the top contenders in its power category, weighing only 46 pounds.
- With a noise rating as low as 58 dBA, this inverter generator is among the quieter options available in its type and power range. If you’d prefer a less noisy device, one of the most quiet devices, which share the same power range with this one, is the Westinghouse iGen4000DFc, whose lowest noise levels reach just 52 dBA.
- With around 8.5 hours of runtime at a 50% load on a full tank, the 56450i is in line with the average autonomy range for inverter generators of comparable power. If extended autonomy is what matters most to you, the Firman W03663OF could be an excellent choice, offering one of the longest run times among units in its power category, reaching around 18 hours.
- Even though run times are undoubtedly important, they are dependent on the fuel capacity to a large extent. For a more wholesome picture, we must take into consideration the fuel consumption of the generator. This inverter generator is one of the more fuel-efficient options in its power range, consuming approximately 0.26 GPH (gallon per hour) at 50% load. If you are concerned with gasoline efficiency, having a fuel consumption of just 0.22 GPH, the Pulsar PGD40iSCO is a device you could look out for.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 3000-4000W inverter generators, the WEN 56450i is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this generator nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.
