Description
Zoom on the WEN 56360iX
In short, the WEN 56360iX is a compact and lightweight portable inverter generator adequately designed for:
- Handcrafting enthusiasts who wish to work on-the-go
- Homeowners who want to be sure of their ability to power their fridges, cooking tools, heating and lighting equipment during power failures
- Tailgating and campground aficionados with the desire of enjoying power anywhere they go
- RV travellers wishing to enhance their freedom and nomad lifestyle
The following sections will present you in detail its power characteristics, the different outlets it offers, its overall portability, and the extra features it benefits from.
Power & Run Time
With a 149 cc OHV 4-stroke engine, the WEN 56360iX operates on gasoline, providing 120V, with a running wattage of 2,900W and a starting wattage of 3,600W. Moreover, since it is parallel capable (parallel kit not included), its power may be doubled if linked to a second compatible unit.
With a noise rating of 65 dBA (just slightly more noisy than an office), the inverter generator features a conventional pull-start mechanism.
Featuring a 1.6 gallon fuel tank, the 56360iX can provide power for around 5 hours at 50% load on a full tank (with fuel consumption averaging 0.32 gallons per hour).
The 56360iX produces a clean sine wave: thanks to a <1.2% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), your sensitive electronics can be safely plugged in the AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel is equipped with the following 3 AC outlets:
Furthermore, it showcases 3 DC outlets: there's a 12V 8A (cigarette lighter style) receptacle enabling simple battery charging for added ease and two 5V USB ports (USB-A) perfect for conveniently charging mobile phones, tablets, and other electronic devices.
Thanks to its TT-30R receptacle (TT stands for 'Travel Trailer'), this WEN generator is RV Ready, making it ideal for powering recreational vehicles.
Portability
With its enclosed inverter generator design (L17.4 x W11.6 x H19.4 in), the WEN 56360iX offers superior aesthetics and operates with minimized noise levels, distinguishing itself from standard, open frame generators. This type of design is the most modern and convenient way to recreationally generate power.
At just 46.3 lbs, the 56360iX is notably lightweight, making it an excellent choice for portable power. The generator can be moved with ease by only one person and so it can be enjoyed on-the-go. Its handle (molded in the case) allows you to carry it easily, further enhancing its convenience.
Features
The 56360iX's control panel is equipped with a digital data center, furnishing detailed information on the power output, lifetime run hours, voltage, fuel level and frequency for you to easily track its activity and status.
In addition to this info, light indicators on the device will signal if the generator is ready, the generator is overloaded and its oil levels are insufficient.
The fuel shutoff feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing for the 56360iX to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan.
As for its security measures, the device features an overload protection (circuit breaker), an automatic low oil shut-off and a low fuel automatic shutdown, letting you use it with a peace of mind.
The unit also benefits from WEN's CO Watchdog carbon monoxide detection. This system measures the accumulation of poisonous CO gas while the generator is running. If the level of CO gas gets too high, the CO Watchdog system will automatically shut down the generator.
With the basic documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), letting you start the generator quickly, the WEN 56360iX also comes with several accessories, including: tool kit, oil and funnel.

The WEN 56360iX versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the WEN 56360iX compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 2500 and 3500 W).
- In terms of its dry weight, the WEN 56360iX stands at only 46.3 lbs, meaning that is one of the lighter inverters of the 2500-3500 rated wattage category Regarding dry weight, one of the champions in the same power range is the Pulsar PGD40iSCO, with a dry weight of only 46 lbs.
- Among the generators of a comparable running wattage, this inverter generator with a lowest noise of 65 dBA can be judged as noisy. If noise emissions are one of your priorities, you may be interested in the Honda EU3000iS, one of the least noisy generators similarly powerful as this one, rated for 50 dBA.
- Autonomy-wise, with around 5 hours on a full tank at a 50% load, the 56360iX is on the low end when compared to other inverter generators of a similar power output. If concerned with autonomy, one of the products of a comparable power output, which offers the highest run time, is the Generac iQ3600DF, boasting with around 13 hours.
- While the run time is an important parameter, it is dependent on the fuel tank's capacity and thus, doesn't say much on its own unless we consider fuel consumption as well. Among generators of similar output, this inverter generator ranks somewhat poorly in fuel efficiency, with an estimated consumption of 0.32 GPH at a 50% load. If not satisfied with the afore-mentioned fuel consumption, you may wish to check out the Pulsar PGD40iSCO. With a fuel consumption of as little as 0.22 GPH, it is one of the most efficient generators currently on the market.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 2500-3500W inverter generators, the WEN 56360iX is on the cheap side of the price range.
It can therefore be a really good buy if you're looking to acquire a budget generator.
The bottom line
- Inexpensive
- CO Watchdog

User Reviews
Got extremely hot, needs piston, rings, and head casket. It’s another throw away generator. $500 Paperweight
Just purchased a 56360ix generator. 2/1/2024 runs great and is well made. I was holding off on purchasing it because of the posted 65db sound level. Other comparable generators have lower sound levels listed as a bit lower. It is advertised as a “quiet” generator so I decided to give it a try. Glad I did.I am in construction and have had several generators over the years so I have heard how loud a few of them are. I decided to do a comparison with a Honda a EB3000C that I have. The Wen is definitely quieter in non eco mode and much quieter in eco mode.
The Honda is listed as 65db (Generator Bible). I positioned my db meter far enough away from it to have it read 65db. I then shut it off and started the Wen. My results came back as 55db in eco mode and 60db with eco mode off which is more inline with comparable generators. As expected it is definitely not as quiet as a smaller Honda EU220i.
Fuel consumption does appear to be about .32 gal/hr@50% and .16 gal/hr@25%
