The Powerhorse s9500d

Thanks to its dual-fuel technology, the Powerhorse s9500d provides a 120/240V output and offers both versatility and power. When utilizing gasoline, it delivers a running wattage of 7,500W and a starting wattage of 9,500W. Alternatively, when operating on propane, it provides 6,750 running watts and 8,550 starting watts.

The generator, rated for a noise of 97 dBA (which is pretty noisy), provides flexibility in starting, offering both a classic hand-operated recoil starting mechanism and a simple and elegant electric starter (battery not included).

The s9500d, with a fuel capacity of 6.6 gallons, reaches a run time of around 10 hours at 50% load utilizing gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.66 GPH). Alternatively, it can reach a run time of around 5 hours (on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.94 GPH) with propane.

Considering its high Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 23%, it is not recommended to rely on the s9500d for powering sensitive electronic devices.

This Powerhorse generator isn't quite RV Ready, but it features an L5-30R receptacle, allowing a simple RV connection through an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor. Besides, due to the featured twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, the s9500d is transfer switch ready: you may connect it to a breaker box to power your household during a power outage.

Portability

With dimensions of L29.3 x W26.7 x H26.4 in, the traditional open frame design of the Powerhorse s9500d ensures stability while allowing easy maintenance access to components and promoting effective air cooling. The device has been designed for tough environments and demanding outdoor use.

Although this generator is technically considered 'portable' (in the sense that it can be moved), its 220 lbs make may make it challenging to manually lift and transport. Nevertheless, thanks to its wheel kit and its folding handle (a decent solution to its lack of maneuverability), the generator can be easily moved, once placed the ground.

To facilitate status and activity monitoring, a convenient meter, offering voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours readings are embedded in the control panel of the s9500d.

In addition to this info, a light indicator shows you if its oil levels are insufficient.

A built-in fuel gauge allows for a quick, easy and convenient check of the fuel level of the generator.

From a security point of view, the generator is equipped with an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, giving you a peace of mind during use.

It also includes a carbon monoxide sensor. This sensor is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.
