Power & Run Time
Honda EU3000i Handi runs on gasoline, powered by a 163 cc Honda GX160 OHV 4-stroke engine with cast iron sleeve, delivering 120V, boasting a running wattage of 2,600W alongside a starting wattage of 3,000W. In addition, the device is parallel capable (Honda parallel cables (opens in a new tab) not included) and thus, can be linked to a similar or compatible unit for added power.
With a noise rating of 52 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a conversation at home), the inverter generator features a conventional pull-start mechanism.
The EU3000i Handi's fuel tank, with a capacity of 1.6 gallon, supports uninterrupted operation for up to 7.7 hours when fully fueled (fuel consumption at an estimated 0.21 gallons per hour).

The control panel features the following 3 AC outlets:
Additionally, it features 1 DC outlet: there's a 12V 8A receptacle providing easy battery charging capabilities.
While not classified as 'RV Ready,' this Honda generator can still provides the advantage of RV connection via its L5-30R receptacle, ensuring power supply to your RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor.
Portability
As the Honda EU3000i Handi is an inverter generator, its encased design (L24.5 x W14.9 x H19.3 in) offers more aesthetics than a conventional, open frame product. This type of design is the most modern and convenient way to recreationally generate power.

The Honda EU3000i Handi versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Honda EU3000i Handi compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 2500 and 3500 W).
- As its weight is 78 pounds, the Honda EU3000i Handi falls in the expected weight range of the inverters in the 2500-3500 rated wattage category. If weight matters to you, one of the champions in this power range is the Pulsar PGD40iSCO with only 46 pounds.
- With a lowest noise rating of 52 dBA, the inverter generator is one of the more quiet of the generators of similar type and power. If noise level is one your key decisive factors, you may find the Honda EU3000iS appealing. It's rated at 50 dBA, making it one of the quietest generators in its power range.
- Regarding its autonomy, the EU3000i Handi can run for up to 7.7 hours at a 25% load, aligning it with the lower performers in its type and power range. If autonomy is your priority, one of the devices of a similar power output with the highest run time is the Champion 200977, reaching up to 22 hours.
- Run time is a key metric, but it's dependent on the generator's fuel capacity. Therefore, discussing fuel efficiency is necessary to get the full picture. When it comes to fuel efficiency among generators with similar wattage, this inverter generator lags behind, with a consumption rate of 0.21 GPH at a 25% load. To prioritize fuel savings, we advise considering the Energizer eZV3500P, which stands out for its gasoline efficiency, consuming just 0.13 gallons per hour.
The bottom line
- Parallel capable
- Inverter
- Quiet for its power (52 dBA)
- Decent weight (78 lbs)
- No data center
- No electric start
- Relatively low run time
- Low fuel efficiency

will this generator power a 15000 RV ac unit? (Asked March 04, 2021)
The approximate wattage required for starting a 15K BTU RV air conditioner is 3500 watts and the approximate wattage for running it is 1500. If your AC unit matches these wattages, the 3000i Handi will not be able to start it. You should determine the actual running and starting wattages of your appliance.
