In the upcoming sections, you'll discover its power characteristics, the array of outlets it presents, its overall portability, and the additional features it possesses.
Power & Run Time
Featuring a 458 cc Dinking OHV 4-stroke engine, the Genmax GM9000iE operates using gasoline, providing 120/240V, with a running wattage of 7,600W and a starting wattage of 9,000W. Furthermore, its parallel capability (GM9000PK (opens in a new tab) not included) allows for increasing of power output when connected to another similar or compatible unit, ensuring expanded energy capacity and reliability for various applications.
The inverter generator is rated for a noise of 62 dBA (just slightly more noisy than background music). Its starting mechanisms include a standard recoil pull-rope starting mechanism and a user-friendly and hassle-free electric starter (battery included). In addition, the GM9000iE also supports remote starting, enhancing user convenience (key fob included).
The GM9000iE's fuel tank, boasting 6.9 gallons, allows it to operate for up to 14.5 hours with a full tank (with an estimated fuel consumption of 0.48 GPH).
Delicate electronics can be plugged in the AC outlets safely, as the GM9000iE generates a clean sine wave, reaching a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
Outlets
The control panel includes the following 6 AC outlets:
Moreover, it boasts 2 DC outlets: there's two 5V USB ports (USB-A) ensuring convenient charging of devices like mobile phones and tablets, for connectivity on the go.
Because the GM9000iE is equipped with a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, it is transfer switch ready: it can power your home during a power outage, as it can be easily connected to your breaker box to power your household.
Portability
The Genmax GM9000iE is an inverter generator and features an encased design with the following dimensions: L30.9 x W22.6 x H29.3 in. This design enhances aesthetics and helps minimize noise levels, distinguishing it from conventional, open frame products. The generator has a contemporary design, convenient for recreationally generating power.
Even though this device may be technically portable (as in movable), manipulation and transportation without special equipment can be a challenge, as it weighs 233.7 pounds. However, the constrained maneuverability is addressed with the assistance of its set of 2 wheels (⌀7") and its folding handle, allowing for easy shifting once the generator is placed on the ground.
Features
One of the many GM9000iE's features is the digital data center, included in its control panel, which conveniently provides information on the voltage, power output, frequency and lifetime run hours and thus, helps you monitor its activity and status.
In addition to this info, the device’s light indicators will display if the generator is ready, its oil levels are insufficient and the generator is overloaded.
The built-in fuel gauge of the inverter generator ensures simple and quick gas level assessments.
Considering security aspects, the generator boasts an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), offering peace of mind throughout operation.
It also benefits from Genmax's CO DETECT technology, which is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.
Apart from the typical documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), which lets you start it right away, the Genmax GM9000iE also is packed along with the following accessories: key fob, funnel and tool kit.

The Genmax GM9000iE versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Genmax GM9000iE compare to generators of similar power (between 7500 and 8500 W).
- With a weight of 233.7 lbs, the Genmax GM9000iE is notably on the heavier side among generators in the 7500-8500 rated wattage range. If weight is a key factor for your needs, the Westinghouse ecoGen10000 is noteworthy for being one of the top contenders in this power range, with a dry weight of 147.7 pounds.
- With a lowest possible noise of 62 dBA, this inverter generator places itself amongst the more quiet of the products delivering similar power. If you'd like a less noisy alternative, the DuroMax XP9500iH is a strong contender. It boasts a noise rating of 61 dBA, placing it among the quietest generators in its power category.
- As far as autonomy is concerned, providing up to 14.5 hours of runtime with a full tank at a 25% load, the GM9000iE falls into the low end in comparison with other devices of a comparable power output. If autonomy is your priority, one of the devices of a similar power output with the highest run time is the DuroMax XP10000HX, reaching up to 22 hours.
- Though run time is a significant parameter, it's closely tied to the generator's fuel tank size. To get a comprehensive understanding, fuel efficiency must also be taken into account. Compared to similar devices, this inverter generator is less fuel-efficient than most: it burns around 0.48 gallons of gasoline per hour at a 25% load. If you wish to acquire one of the most gasoline efficient products of this power range, the DuroMax XP9500iH, with a fuel consumption of 0.34 GPH could be in your good books.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 7500-8500W generators, the Genmax GM9000iE is on the expensive side of the price range.
While certainly not the cheapest of its kind, purchasing it would most likely also mean enjoying the reliability of a high-end product.

User Reviews
I love everything about this generator but….it keeps shutting down when the load on the indicator gets up to 4k watts. It’s advertised to be 9000 peak 7600 running, but that’s not happening for me….Would appreciate any help here…
