Description
Zoom on the Genmax GM9000iE
To sum up, the Genmax GM9000iE is a powerful portable inverter generator tailored for:
- Food van owners who know that just a short power outage could lose them hundreds of dollars
- Homeowners who want to be sure of their ability to power their fridges, cooking tools, heating and lighting equipment during power failures
- Professionals in need of safely powering high-intensity work or lighting equipment
In the following paragraphs, we shall explore the power characteristics, available outlets, portability, and any additional features of the device.
Power & Run Time
Featuring a 458 cc Dinking OHV 4-stroke engine, the Genmax GM9000iE operates using gasoline, providing 120/240V, with a running wattage of 7,600W and a starting wattage of 9,000W. In addition, the parallel capability (GM9000PK (opens in a new tab) not included) empowers increasing of power output when linked to another similar or compatible unit, ensuring expanded energy capacity and reliability for various applications.
The inverter generator is rated for a noise of 62 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a normal conversation). Its starting mechanisms include a standard recoil pull-rope starting mechanism and a no-fuss and convenient electric starter (battery included). Moreover, the GM9000iE boasts remote starting functionality, adding another layer of convenience (key fob included).
The GM9000iE's fuel tank, boasting 6.9 gallons, allows it to operate for up to 14.5 hours with a full tank (with an estimated fuel consumption of 0.48 GPH).
Sensitive electronics can be safely plugged in the AC outlets, as the GM9000iE produces a clean sine wave, with a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
Outlets
The control panel provides the upcoming 6 AC outlets:
Moreover, it comes equipped with 2 DC outlets: there's two 5V USB ports (USB-A) with which you may charge electronics, for example mobile phones or tablets, conveniently.
With its twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, the GM9000iE is designed to be transfer switch ready, allowing easy connection to your breaker box for powering your home during a blackout.
Portability
The Genmax GM9000iE's characteristic encased inverter generator design (L30.9 x W22.6 x H29.3 in) provides an aesthetic advantage and contributes to quieter operation compared to any ordinary, open frame product. The design follows the contemporary trends and is perfect for recreationally generating power.
While technically classified as 'portable' due to its ability to be moved, the 233.7 lbs of this generator make manual lifting and transportation incredibly difficult. However, the constrained maneuverability is addressed with the assistance of its set of 2 wheels (⌀7") and its folding handle, allowing for easy shifting once the generator is placed on the ground.
Features
With a digital data center integrated into its control panel, the GM9000iE provides real-time insights into the power output, frequency, lifetime run hours and voltage, enabling easy monitoring of its status and activity.
In addition to this info, the device’s light indicators will display if the generator is overloaded, its oil levels are insufficient and the generator is ready.
Benefiting from its built-in fuel gauge, the inverter generator allows for easy and immediate gas level inspections.
As far as security is concerned, the generator can be used with a peace of mind, as it features an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker).
It also benefits from Genmax's CO DETECT technology, which is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.
With the basic documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), letting you start the generator quickly, the Genmax GM9000iE also comes with several accessories, including: funnel, tool kit and key fob.

The Genmax GM9000iE versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Genmax GM9000iE compare to generators of similar power (between 7500 and 8500 W).
- Tipping the scales at 233.7 lbs, the Genmax GM9000iE qualifies as one of the heavier options among generators rated between 7500 and 8500 watts. If weight is your top priority, one of the champions in this power category is the Genmax GM10500XiT, weighing just 123.5 pounds.
- Rated at a lowest possible noise level of 62 dBA, this inverter generator positions itself amongst the more quiet of the products of similar power. If noise is a concern for you, you could consider the DuroMax XP9500iH, which is one of the least noisy generators in its power range, rated at 61 dBA.
- Concerning its runtime, the GM9000iE provides up to 14.5 hours at a 25% load, indicating that it falls on the lower side compared to other generators of its power range. Concerning the run times, one of the several devices with a comparable output, offering the highest autonomy, is the DuroMax XP10000EH, which is able to run for up to 22 hours.
- While run time matters, it's heavily influenced by the fuel tank's capacity. Hence, it's important to consider fuel efficiency alongside. In terms of fuel efficiency within its wattage range, this inverter generator falls short: it consumes approximately 0.48 GPH at a 25% load. If minimizing fuel usage is one of your key priorities, the DuroMax XP9500iH is one of the most efficient devices with similar power output, with a gasoline consumption of only 0.34 gallons per hour.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 7500-8500W inverter generators, the Genmax GM9000iE is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this generator nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.

User Reviews
I love everything about this generator but….it keeps shutting down when the load on the indicator gets up to 4k watts. It’s advertised to be 9000 peak 7600 running, but that’s not happening for me….Would appreciate any help here…
