Power & Run Time

The Firman P01201

The Firman P01201's core is the 80 cc Firman Max-Pro Series OHV 4-stroke engine with cast iron sleeve, which runs on gasoline. With an output of 120V, it provides a running wattage of 1,200W and a peak wattage of 1,500W.

The generator features a traditional recoil pull-start mechanism. It is rated for a noise of 64 dBA (just slightly more noisy than background music).

The P01201's fuel tank holds 1.7 gallon, ensuring uninterrupted operation for around 10 hours at 50% load with a full tank (fuel consumption approximately 0.17 GPH).

Due to the high THD (<25%) of the P01201, it is advised against using it for powering sensitive electronic devices.

Outlets

The control panel includes the following 2 AC outlets:

Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R)

Portability

Measuring L17.5 x W14.2 x H155 in, the classic open frame build of the Firman P01201 delivers stability and easy maintenance access to components, facilitating air circulation. The device has been designed for tough environments and demanding outdoor use.

Weighing 55 lbs, the P01201 is easily handled, ensuring it can go wherever your power needs are. In addition, it is even easier to grab and move the generator around thanks to its open frame design.

The Firman P01201 versus other generators

The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Firman P01201 compare to generators of similar power (between 1000 and 2000 W).

• Tipping the scales at 55 lbs, the Firman P01201 qualifies as one of the heavier options among generators rated between 1000 and 2000 watts. If weight is a key factor for your needs, the Pulsar PGD16iSCO is noteworthy for being one of the top contenders in this power range, with a dry weight of 24 pounds.
• In comparison to generators with a similar running wattage, this generator's lowest emitted noise of 64 dBA can be considered noisy. For those who are looking for a less noisy device, we suggest the Honda EU2200i. With just 48 dBA, it is one of the most quiet devices in this power range.
• Since the P01201 boasts with a run time of around 10 hours at 50% load, it can be safely judged as a device of a higher run time than most generators of a comparable output. If you wish to prioritize autonomy, the Pulsar PG2200R shines as one of the top contenders, offering one of the highest run times among generators with similar power output, totaling around 12 hours.
• The run time is important, but also hugely depends on the capacity of the fuel tank and doesn't mean much if we don't talk about fuel consumption as well. With an estimated fuel consumption of 0.17 GPH at a 50% load, this generator aligns with the average gasoline usage range of comparable products. If fuel consumption is your top priority, we suggest to check out the Pulsar PGD16iSCO, which has a fuel consumption of only 0.09 GPH and thus, is one of the most efficient devices in our database.
