Description
The H08051 Dual fuel generator can run on both Gas and Liquid Propane fuel, giving you flexibility during a storm, or when you’re on the job. This generator 10,000 starting watts and 8,000 running watts (9050/7250 LPG) with an electric start, for ease of use.
Zoom on the Firman H08051
In short, the Firman H08051 is a portable generator adequately designed for:
- Food truck owners who do not wish to see their business interrupted under any circumstances
- Homeowners in need of an emergency backup power for their essentials
- Professionals in need of safely powering high-intensity work or lighting equipment
- RV travellers who wish to upgrade their experience to another level
The following sections will present you in detail its power characteristics, the different outlets it offers, its overall portability, and the extra features it benefits from.
Power & Run Time
Thanks to its dual-fuel technology, the Firman H08051 provides a 120/240V output and offers both versatility and power. When utilizing gasoline, it delivers a running wattage of 8,000W and a starting wattage of 10,000W. Alternatively, when operating on propane, it provides 7,250 running watts and 9,050 starting watts.
The generator features a manual recoil starter system and also a no-fuss and convenient electric starter (battery included). It is rated for a noise of 74 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a shower).
The running time of the H08051, with its 8 gallons fuel capacity, can reach around 12 hours at 50% load on a full tank of gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.67 GPH). With propane, it can reach around 5 hours (estimation based on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.94 GPH).
Considering its high Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 25%, it is not recommended to rely on the H08051 for powering sensitive electronic devices.
Outlets
The control panel is equipped with the following 5 AC outlets:
For RV owners with a 50-amp service, this Firman unit is RV-ready, boasting a 14-50R outlet. In addition, as the H08051 holds a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, it is transfer switch ready: you'll easily be able to connect it to your breaker box to power your home during a power outage.
Portability
Measuring L30.2 x W27.5 x H26.3 in, the Firman H08051 showcases a classic open frame layout, offering stability and simple maintenance access to components, while facilitating air circulation. The design is ideal for rough environments and demanding outdoor use.
Although this generator is technically considered 'portable' (in the sense that it can be moved), its 212 lbs make it incredibly difficult to manually lift and transport. Nevertheless, thanks to its wheel kit (⌀10") and its folding handle (a decent solution to its lack of maneuverability), the generator can be easily moved, once placed the ground.
Features
To help you monitor the H08051's status and activity, its control panel is equipped with a convenient meter, providing voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours data.
With its built-in fuel gauge, the generator provides quick and convenient gas level checks.
From a security standpoint, the product offers an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), allowing you to use it with a peace of mind.
While the standard documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), helpful for starting the device promptly, come with the Firman H08051, the following accessories are also included: funnel, tool kit, propane hose and oil.

The Firman H08051 versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Firman H08051 compare to dual fuel generators of similar power (between 7500 and 8500 W).
- At 212 lbs dry, the Firman H08051 is consistent with the standard weight profile for dual fuel devices ranging from 7500 to 8500 rated watts. In terms of weight, one of the champions in their power range is the Pulsar PGL9000BCO, standing at just 149 lbs.
- With noise emissions rated as low as 74 dBA, this generator falls within the typical noise range expected for devices of similar type and power. If you wish to prioritize minimal noise, the DuroMax XP9500iH stands out as one of the quietest options among generators of similar power, with a rating of 61 dBA.
- At 50% load, the H08051 achieves one of the longest run times compared to dual fuel devices of similar power, sustaining operations for around 12 hours.
- Run times are important, yet thanks to their dependence on the fuel capacity, they should be judged along with the fuel consumption of the device. With a fuel consumption rate around 0.67 GPH (gallon per hour) at 50% load, this generator is one of the more fuel-efficient models within the aforementioned wattage range. If you are concerned with gasoline efficiency, having a fuel consumption of just 0.59 GPH, the Powerhorse s10500id is a device you could look out for.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 7500-8500W dual fuel generators, the Firman H08051 is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this generator nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.

User Reviews
Overall a nice generator. Did the job for me for 10 straight hours when I lost power. I was happy to find a generator with a 50 amp outlet on it. That feature is hard to find anymore.
My Firman dual fuel failed when the valve stem broke and lodged in the cylinder . It was a right off . I had it for less than a year . Customer service would not honor the warranty because they said I had not done ongoing servicing by adjusting valve settings and not doing clearance checks on the rocker arms and I could not prove I had done proper oil changes . Kiss goodbye to $1600
Not impressed, only got to run it 3 hrs, flip the breaker nothing happens, installed new breaker still dont work !
