The H03651 Dual fuel generator can run on both Gas and Liquid Propane fuel, giving you flexibility during a storm, or when you’re out camping. This generator features 4550 starting watts and 3650 running watts (4100/3300 LPG) with an electric start, for ease of use.

Zoom on the Firman H03651

In a few words, the Firman H03651 is a portable generator perfectly suited for:

  • RV travellers wishing to enhance their freedom and nomad lifestyle
  • Occasional participants of outdoor events, competitions, concerts and festivals
  • Homeowners in need of an emergency backup power for their essentials
  • Professionals who want to ensure that a power failure will not prevent them from working

The subsequent sections will explore in detail its power characteristics, the diverse outlets it provides, its overall portability, and the supplementary features it offers.

Power & Run Time

The Firman H03651 in use

The Firman H03651

Thanks to its dual-fuel technology, the Firman H03651 delivers 120V and offers power and versatility. When gasoline-powered, it benefits from a running wattage of 3,650W and a peak wattage of 4,550W. When propane-powered, it has 3,300 rated watts and 4,100 peak watts.

With a noise rating of 67 dBA (less noisy than background music), the generator features a conventional pull-start mechanism, but also an intuitive and practical electric starter (battery included).

Concerning its running time, the H03651, featuring a 5 gallons fuel tank, can continuously run for around 14 hours at 50% load with a full gasoline tank (consuming fuel at approximately 0.36 gallons per hour). Alternatively, when utilizing propane, it offers around 11 hours (on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.43 GPH) of runtime.

As the H03651 has a high THD (<25%), it is not recommended to use it to power sensitive electronic devices.

Outlets

The control panel features the upcoming 4 AC outlets:

Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI
120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle
120V 30A (TT-30R) receptacle

Thanks to its TT-30R receptacle (TT stands for 'Travel Trailer'), this Firman generator is RV Ready.

Portability

With a size of L24.7 x W21.8 x H21.6 in, the Firman H03651 features an open frame design, providing stability and simplified maintenance access to components, enhancing air circulation. This type of design is ideal for tough environments and heavy outdoor use.

As the generator's weight is 119.5 pounds, manually moving it or transporting it may be challenging, despite the fact that it is technically considered 'portable' (movable). Nevertheless, the restricted maneuverability is counteracted by its wheel kit (⌀8") and its folding handle, enabling easy shifting once the generator is set in place.

The H03651's control panel

The control panel of the H03651 includes a convenient meter, offering voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours readings, helpful for the monitoring of its status and activity.

The built-in fuel gauge of the generator ensures simple and quick gas level assessments.

Considering security aspects, the generator boasts an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), offering peace of mind throughout operation.

In addition to the traditional documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab) to help you get started promptly, the Firman H03651 also includes several accessories: propane hose, tool kit, funnel and oil.

The Firman H03651 versus other generators

The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Firman H03651 compare to dual fuel generators of similar power (between 3500 and 4500 W).

  • At a dry weight of 119.5 pounds, the Firman H03651 is one of the heavier dual fuel devices which can produce between 3500 and 4500 running watts. If weight is an important consideration for you, the WEN DF402iX stands out as one of the top contenders in this power category, with a dry weight of 66.1 pounds.
  • With noise emissions reaching as low as 67 dBA, this generator has a noise level typical for devices of its type and power category. If noise emissions are one of your priorities, you may want to take a look at the Westinghouse iGen4500DF. It's one of the quietest options among generators of similar power, rated at 52 dBA.
  • With around 14 hours of runtime at 50% load, the H03651 provides a higher run time when compared to similarly powerful dual fuel products. If you consider autonomy on a single full tank as one of the deciding factors, one of the generators in the same power range that offers the highest run time is the Westinghouse iGen4500DF, with around 15 hours.
  • While run time is vital, it hinges on the fuel capacity. To grasp the full picture, we must also factor in fuel efficiency. As this generator uses an estimated 0.36 GPH (gallon per hour) at a 50% load, it finds itself in the average gasoline consumption range of similar products. If you are concerned with gasoline efficiency, having a fuel consumption of just 0.23 GPH, the Westinghouse iGen4500DF is a device you could look out for.
According to our stats, the following comparison is pretty popular: Firman H03651 vs Firman H03652.

How much oil does it take? (Asked December 14, 2019)

The oil capacity is 20.3 oz.

When connecting this generator to propane with the supplied hose,.....do I just connect the propane tank with the hose to the generator? Is the propane regulator built into the generator? Or do I need to buy a separate regulator? Thank you. (Asked December 10, 2020)

The regulator is included with the LPG hose.
