Description
Introducing the XP130000HXT Tri Fuel generator that America has been waiting for. With 13,000 watts of peak power, this unit will run on Gasoline, Propane, or NATURAL GAS and stands alone as the largest Tri Fuel portable generator on the market!
Zoom on the DuroMax XP13000HXT
To sum up, the DuroMax XP13000HXT is a powerful portable generator tailored for:
- Professionals who want to be able to deliver results, even during a power failure
- Homeowners who want to be sure of their ability to power their fridges, cooking tools, heating and lighting equipment during power failures
In the forthcoming sections, you'll delve into its power characteristics, the various outlets it offers, its overall portability, and the additional features it boasts.
Power & Run Time
The DuroMax XP13000HXT delivers 120/240V and is equipped with a tri-fuel technology, enabling it to operate on gasoline, propane, or natural gas. When powered by gasoline, it achieves a running wattage of 10,500W and a peak wattage of 13,000W. Switching to propane provides 9,500 rated watts and 12,000 peak watts, while natural gas operation delivers 8,500W of rated wattage and 10,000W of starting wattage.
With a noise rating of 74 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a shower), the generator features a traditional recoil pull-start mechanism, but also a convenient and easy-to-use electric starter (battery included). Moreover, the XP13000HXT boasts remote starting functionality, adding another layer of convenience (key fob included).
With a fuel capacity of 8.3 gallons, the XP13000HXT can operate for around 8.5 hours at 50% load using gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.98 GPH), or for around 3.2 hours (on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 1.47 GPH) using propane.
The XP13000HXT is unsuitable for the powering of sensitive electronic devices due to its relatively high THD (<12%).
Outlets
The control panel is equipped with the following 7 AC outlets:
While this DuroMax generator is not RV Ready, its L5-30R receptacle can be used for a simple RV connection with an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor. Besides, the XP13000HXT's twist-lock L14-30R receptacle makes it transfer switch ready, enabling hassle-free connection to your breaker box for powering your home during outages.
Portability
With a size of L30 x W29 x H26 in, the DuroMax XP13000HXT features an open frame design, providing stability and simplified maintenance access to components, enhancing air circulation. The design is ideal for rough environments and demanding outdoor use.
As the generator's weight is 240 pounds, manually moving it or transporting it may be challenging, despite the fact that it is technically considered 'portable' (movable). Despite the restricted maneuverability, its wheel kit (⌀10") and its folding handle provides a solution, allowing for convenient shifting once the generator is positioned on the ground.
Features
Designed with a digital data center, the control panel of the XP13000HXT grants you access to crucial data on the lifetime run hours, fuel level, power output, frequency and voltage, ensuring practical monitoring of its status and activity.
In addition to this info, a light indicator shows you if its oil levels are insufficient.
As far as security is concerned, the generator can be used with a peace of mind, as it features an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off.
The XP13000HXT also benefits from DuroMax’s CO Alert carbon monoxide shutdown. If CO levels become unsafe or rapidly increase, the generator will automatically shut down, an indicator will light red, and the engine will not restart for 5 minutes.
Alongside the standard documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab) for quick setup, the DuroMax XP13000HXT is bundled with additional accessories: tool kit, propane hose, funnel, key fob and natural gas hose with NPT adapter. An official storage cover and a suitable running cover are also available, as separate purchases.

The DuroMax XP13000HXT versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the DuroMax XP13000HXT compare to multi-fuel generators of similar power (between 10000 and 11000 W).
- Weighing 240 lbs, the DuroMax XP13000HXT is one of the heavier multi-fuel generators within the 10000-11000 rated wattage bracket. In terms of weight, one of the champions in their power range is the Genmax GM12000XiT, standing at just 194 lbs.
- With noise emissions rated as low as 74 dBA, this generator falls within the typical noise range expected for devices of similar type and power. If you are concerned with noise, check out the Genmax GM12500iET, which is one of the least noisy generators in its power range, with a noise rating of just 62 dBA.
- As for its autonomy, the XP13000HXT, with an autonomy of around 8.5 hours at a 50% load, is placed on the low end among the generators of its kind. If prolonged run time is essential to your needs, you could consider the Genmax GM15000ET, which offers one of the highest autonomy among devices with similar power output, lasting around 11 hours.
- Run time is crucial, but it heavily relies on the fuel tank's capacity. Thus, considering fuel efficiency alongside is essential. At a 50% load, the generator consumes an estimated 0.98 gallons of gasoline per hour, falling within the average consumption range of units with similar output. If you wish to acquire one of the most gasoline efficient products of this power range, the WEN TF1300iX, with a fuel consumption of 0.93 GPH could be in your good books.
