Zoom on the Champion 201323
In short, the Champion 201323 is a quiet, compact and lightweight portable inverter generator adequately designed for:
- Camping and tailgating buffs looking to enhance their experience
- Amateur DIY lovers
In the following paragraphs, we shall explore the power characteristics, available outlets, portability, and any additional features of the device.
Power & Run Time
Featuring dual-fuel technology, the Champion 201323 provides 120V, as well as versatility and power. Running on gasoline, it delivers a running wattage of 1,850W and a peak wattage of 2,500W. Alternatively, when fueled by propane, it offers 1,665 running watts and 2,500 peak watts. Additionally, the parallel capability (ParaLink (opens in a new tab) not included) facilitates doubling of power output when linked to another similar or compatible unit, offering enhanced energy capacity and reliability for diverse requirements.
At a noise rating of 53 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a refrigerator), the inverter generator is started via a standard recoil pull-rope starting mechanism. Champion’s EZ Start Dial lets you intuitively start the engine with easy access to all the controls you need.
As for its running time, the 201323, along with its 1.1 gallon fuel capacity, can run for up to 11.5 hours with a full tank filled with gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.1 GPH). If propane is used, it can operate for up to 25 hours (on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.19 GPH).
The 201323 generates a clean sine wave: providing <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), delicate electronics can be plugged in its AC outlets safely.
Outlets
The control panel is equipped with the following 2 AC outlets:
In addition, it provides 1 DC outlet: there's a 12V 8A (cigarette lighter style) receptacle allowing you to easily charge your batteries.
Portability
As the Champion 201323 is an inverter generator, its encased design (L17.6 x W12.8 x H18.1 in) offers more aesthetics than a conventional, open frame product. The design follows the contemporary trends and is perfect for recreationally generating power.
Since the 201323 weighs only 43.2 lbs, it can be labeled as a portable lightweight generator. It's easy for one person to move around, ensuring power availability on the move. It can also be carried without effort with a featured handle (molded in the case), further improving its convenience.
Features
One of the many 201323's features is the digital Intelligauge data center, included in its control panel, which conveniently provides information on the power output, lifetime run hours, frequency and voltage and thus, helps you monitor its activity and status.
In addition to this info, a light indicator on the device will signal if its oil levels are insufficient.
Benefiting from its built-in fuel gauge, the inverter generator allows for easy and immediate gas level inspections.
As far as security is concerned, the generator can be used with a peace of mind, as it features an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off.
The unit also benefits from the CO Shield™ technology, which monitors accumulation of poisonous carbon monoxide (CO) gas produced by the engine's exhaust when the generator is running. If CO Shield™ detects elevated levels of CO gas, it automatically shuts off the engine and illuminates a red LED.
Alongside the standard documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab) for quick setup, the Champion 201323 is bundled with additional accessories: oil, propane hose, funnel and tool kit. The official storage cover and running cover are also available, as separate purchases.

The Champion 201323 versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Champion 201323 compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 1500 and 2500 W).
- As for its weight, the Champion 201323 weighs only 43.2 pounds, making it one of the lighter inverter generators in the 1500-2500 rated wattage category. if you wish to prioritize weight, the Genmax GM2000i is one of the top contenders in its power category, weighing only 34.2 pounds.
- Delivering a rated noise output as low as 53 dBA, this inverter generator is has a quieter operation that most units of similar type and power. If noise emissions are one of your priorities, you may want to take a look at the Honda EU2200i. It's one of the quietest options among generators of similar power, rated at 48 dBA.
- Since the 201323 boasts with a run time of up to 11.5 hours at 25% load, it can be safely judged as a device of a higher run time than most inverter generators of a comparable output. Concerning the run times, one of the several devices with a comparable output, offering the highest autonomy, is the DuroMax XP2300iH, which is able to run for up to 13 hours.
- While run time matters, it's heavily influenced by the fuel tank's capacity. Hence, it's important to consider fuel efficiency alongside. With a fuel consumption rate around 0.1 GPH (gallon per hour) at 25% load, this inverter generator is one of the more fuel-efficient models within the aforementioned wattage range. If you're placing a high priority on fuel consumption, the Westinghouse iGen2800c, with a low fuel consumption rate of 0.08 GPH, could be an option to consider.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 1500-2500W dual fuel inverter generators, the Champion 201323 is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this generator nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.
