Description
Zoom on the Champion 201323
In a nutshell, the Champion 201323 is a quiet, compact and lightweight portable inverter generator mostly geared towards:
- Camping and tailgating buffs looking to enhance their experience
- Handcrafting enthusiasts who wish to work on-the-go
In the upcoming sections, you'll discover its power characteristics, the array of outlets it presents, its overall portability, and the additional features it possesses.
Power & Run Time
Featuring dual-fuel technology, the Champion 201323 provides 120V, as well as versatility and power. Running on gasoline, it delivers a running wattage of 1,850W and a peak wattage of 2,500W. Alternatively, when fueled by propane, it offers 1,665 running watts and 2,500 peak watts. In addition, the device is parallel capable (ParaLink (opens in a new tab) not included) and thus, can be linked to a similar or compatible unit for added power.
With a noise rating of 53 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a conversation at home), the inverter generator's ignition is facilitated by a simple traditional pull-start mechanism. Champion’s EZ Start Dial lets you intuitively start the engine with easy access to all the controls you need.
As for its running time, the 201323, along with its 1.1 gallon fuel capacity, can run for up to 11.5 hours with a full tank filled with gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.1 GPH). If propane is used, it can operate for up to 25 hours (on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.19 GPH).
With a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), the 201323 delivers a clean sine wave—essential for safeguarding your delicate electronics when plugged into its AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel features 2 AC outlets as follows:
In addition, it provides 1 DC outlet: there's a 12V 8A (cigarette lighter style) receptacle enabling simple battery charging for added ease.
Portability
The Champion 201323 is distinguished by its enclosed inverter generator design (L17.3 x W12.8 x H18.1 in), providing improved aesthetics and quieter performance compared to traditional, open frame units. The featured design follows the latest trends and is ideal for easy and recreational use.
With a weight of only 43.2 lbs, the 201323 is deisgned to be a lightweight and easily portable generator. As it can be moved by a single person without much effort, the generator and its power can be enjoyed on-the-go. Adding to its convenience, the handle (molded in the case) enables easy carrying.
Features
The 201323's control panel is equipped with a digital Intelligauge data center, furnishing detailed information on the lifetime run hours, frequency, voltage and power output for you to easily track its activity and status.
In addition to this info, the generator's light indicator provides visual feedback when its oil levels are insufficient.
A built-in fuel gauge allows for a quick, easy and convenient check of the fuel level of the inverter generator.
From a security point of view, the generator is equipped with an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, giving you a peace of mind during use.
The unit also benefits from the CO Shield™ technology, which monitors accumulation of poisonous carbon monoxide (CO) gas produced by the engine's exhaust when the generator is running. If CO Shield™ detects elevated levels of CO gas, it automatically shuts off the engine and illuminates a red LED.
While the standard documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), helpful for starting the device promptly, come with the Champion 201323, the following accessories are also included: tool kit, propane hose, funnel and oil. The official storage cover and running cover are also available, as separate purchases.

The Champion 201323 versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Champion 201323 compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 1500 and 2500 W).
- In terms of its weight, the Champion 201323 weighs merely 43.2 pounds, earning it a spot among the lighter inverter generators within the 1500 to 2500 rated wattage category. Weight-conscious users may find the Genmax GM2000i appealing, as it is one of the top contenders in this power range, weighing just 34.2 pounds.
- At just 53 dBA rated noise level, this inverter generator is positioned as one of the quieter choices among devices delivering similar type and power. If you are concerned with noise, check out the Honda EU2200i, which is one of the least noisy generators in its power range, with a noise rating of just 48 dBA.
- In terms of run time, the 201323 surpasses similarly powerful inverters, boasting one of the higher run times at up to 11.5 hours. If autonomy is your priority, one of the devices of a similar power output with the highest run time is the DuroMax XP2300iH, reaching up to 13 hours.
- Though run time is a significant parameter, it's closely tied to the generator's fuel tank size. To get a comprehensive understanding, fuel efficiency must also be taken into account. This inverter generator, with an estimated fuel consumption of just 0.1 GPH (gallon per hour) at 25% load, is one of the more fuel-efficient generators, for the previously mentioned wattage range. If you're placing a high priority on fuel consumption, the Westinghouse iGen2800, with a low fuel consumption rate of 0.08 GPH, could be an option to consider.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 1500-2500W dual fuel inverter generators, the Champion 201323 is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this generator nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.
