Zoom on the Champion 201319
In a nutshell, the Champion 201319 is a compact portable inverter generator mostly geared towards:
- RV travellers wishing to enhance their freedom and nomad lifestyle
- Occasional participants of outdoor events, competitions, concerts and festivals
- Handcrafting enthusiasts who wish to work on-the-go
- Homeowners in need of an emergency backup power for their essentials
- Camping and tailgating buffs looking to enhance their experience
The subsequent sections will explore in detail its power characteristics, the diverse outlets it provides, its overall portability, and the supplementary features it offers.
Power & Run Time
Featuring dual-fuel technology, the Champion 201319 provides 120V, and offers both power and versatility. Running on gasoline, it delivers a running wattage of 3,500W and a starting wattage of 4,500W. When propane-powered, it offers 3,150 running watts and 4,500 starting watts. In addition, the device is parallel capable (ParaLink (opens in a new tab) not included) and thus, can be linked to a similar or compatible unit for added power.
Enjoying a noise rating of 61 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a normal conversation), this inverter generator can be started thanks to a manual recoil starter system, but also to a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). Champion’s EZ Start Dial lets you intuitively start the engine with easy access to all the controls you need.
As for its running time, the 201319, along with its 2.3 gallons fuel capacity, can run for up to 14 hours with a full tank filled with gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.16 GPH). If propane is used, it can operate for up to 21 hours (on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.22 GPH).
Delicate electronics can be plugged in the AC outlets safely, as the 201319 generates a clean sine wave, reaching a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
Outlets
The control panel includes the following 3 AC outlets:
Moreover, it boasts 1 DC outlet: there's a 12V 8A (cigarette lighter style) receptacle providing easy battery charging capabilities.
The inclusion of a TT-30R receptacle (TT for 'Travel Trailer') makes this Champion generator RV Ready, ideal for providing power to recreational vehicles.
Portability
Thanks to its closed inverter generator design (L23.2 x W17.7 x H20.1 in), the Champion 201319 not only offers superior aesthetics but also operates with reduced noise levels compared to a typical, open frame generator. The featured design follows the latest trends and is ideal for easy and recreational use.
With a weight of 103.6 lbs, the generator is still labeled as 'portable,' denoting its ability to be moved, although its heaviness might restrict easy portability. Despite the restricted maneuverability, its set of 2 wheels (⌀5") and its folding handle provides a solution, allowing for convenient shifting once the generator is positioned on the ground.
Features
A digital Intelligauge data center, one of the features of the 201319's control panel, gives you information on the voltage, lifetime run hours, power output and frequency, and thus, is helpful for the monitoring of its activity and status.
In addition to this info, a light indicator on the device will signal if the oil level is too low.
A built-in fuel gauge allows for a quick, easy and convenient check of the fuel level of the inverter generator.
From a security standpoint, the product offers an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), allowing you to use it with a peace of mind.
The unit also benefits from the CO Shield™ technology, which monitors accumulation of poisonous carbon monoxide (CO) gas produced by the engine's exhaust when the generator is running. If CO Shield™ detects elevated levels of CO gas, it automatically shuts off the engine and illuminates a red LED.
Apart from the typical documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), which lets you start it right away, the Champion 201319 also is packed along with the following accessories: propane hose, oil, funnel and tool kit. The official storage cover and running cover are also available, as separate purchases.

The Champion 201319 versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Champion 201319 compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 3000 and 4000 W).
- At 103.6 lbs in dry weight, the Champion 201319 fits well within the typical weight bracket for inverter generators producing 3000 to 4000 rated watts. If weight is an important consideration for you, the Pulsar PGD40iSCO stands out as one of the top contenders in this power category, with a dry weight of 46 pounds.
- Given its rated noise level of 61 dBA, this inverter generator aligns with the average expected noise rating for devices of similar type and power. For those who are looking for a less noisy device, we suggest the Westinghouse iGen4500DF. With just 52 dBA, it is one of the most quiet devices in this power range.
- The 201319, offering a run time of up to 14 hours with a full tank at a 25% load, falls within the average autonomy range when compared to its peers. If wyou wish to prioritize autonomy, the Firman W03661OF shines as one of the top contenders, offering one of the highest run times among generators with similar power output, totaling up to 25 hours.
- Run time is a key metric, but it's dependent on the generator's fuel capacity. Therefore, discussing fuel efficiency is necessary to get the full picture. This inverter generator, with an estimated fuel consumption of just 0.16 GPH (gallon per hour) at 25% load, is one of the more fuel-efficient generators, for the previously mentioned wattage range. If fuel consumption is your top priority, we suggest to check out the Energizer eZV3500P, which has a fuel consumption of only 0.13 GPH and thus, is one of the most efficient devices in our database.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 3000-4000W dual fuel inverter generators, the Champion 201319 is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this generator nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.

User Reviews
I bought this for back-up power during outages and to use while camping in our RV. I love the fact that it is RV ready and will power out 13.5kw A/C and other appliances simultaneously. I have only run it on propane, and really don’t plan on using gasoline unless necessary. It starts easily and runs very quietly. I run it on our RV’s onboard propane and it will run all weekend on our RV tanks with gas to spare. I would highly recommend this generator to any of my friends.
