Power & Run Time

The Champion 201067 in use

The Champion 201067

Featuring a 420 cc OHV 4-stroke engine, the Champion 201067 operates using gasoline, providing 120/240V, with a running wattage of 7,250W and a starting wattage of 9,000W.

Operating with a noise rating of 72 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a vacuum cleaner), this inverter generator offers two starting options: a standard recoil pull-rope starting mechanism and a user-friendly and hassle-free electric starter (battery included).

Featuring a 4.3 gallons fuel tank, the 201067 provides continuous power for up to 10.5 hours on a full tank (fuel consumption around 0.41 GPH).

The 201067 ensures a clean sine wave output, boasting <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) to protect your sensitive electronics when connected to its AC outlets.

Outlets

The control panel features the following 6 AC outlets:

Two Duplexes 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI
120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle
120/240V 50A (14-50R) receptacle

Furthermore, it showcases 1 DC outlet: there's a 12V 8A (cigarette lighter style) receptacle making battery charging a breeze. Since a dual port USB adapter is included with the unit, you will also be able to use the DC receptacle to conveniently charge electronics such as mobile phones and tablets.

With its 14-50R outlet, this Champion unit is RV-ready for owners with a 50-amp service in their RVs. In addition, with its twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, the 201067 is designed to be transfer switch ready, allowing easy connection to your breaker box for powering your home during a blackout.

Portability

At L26.6 x W25.5 x H24.6 in, the traditional open frame structure of the Champion 201067 ensures stability while facilitating convenient maintenance access to components and promoting air cooling. The generator is designed for outdoor use and demanding environments.

Despite its weight of 152.2 lbs, the generator is still considered 'portable,' meaning it is movable, although its heftiness may restrict portability in certain environments or require additional considerations for transportation and setup. Nevertheless, it can still be moved quite conveniently with the help of its set of wheels (⌀8") and its folding handle, once it is placed on the ground.

Features

The 201067's control panel

Featuring a digital Intelligauge data center on its control panel, the 201067 offers you convenient access to essential information about the lifetime run hours, voltage, power output and frequency, facilitating effective monitoring of its activity and status.

The inverter generator allows for a quick, easy and convenient assessment of its gas level, as it is equipped with a built-in fuel gauge.

From a security standpoint, the generator is furnished with an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, ensuring peace of mind during operation.

The unit also benefits from the CO Shield™ technology, which monitors accumulation of poisonous carbon monoxide (CO) gas produced by the engine's exhaust when the generator is running. If CO Shield™ detects elevated levels of CO gas, it automatically shuts off the engine and illuminates a red LED.

Beyond the standard documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab) to assist with setup, the Champion 201067 ships with supplementary accessories: oil, dual port USB adapter and funnel. The official storage cover and running cover are also available, as separate purchases.

The Champion 201067 versus other generators

The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the Champion 201067 compare to generators of similar power (between 6500 and 7500 W).

  • In terms of its dry weight, the Champion 201067 stands at only 152.2 lbs, meaning that is one of the lighter devices of the 6500-7500 rated wattage category If you are mindful of weight, the Champion 201515 is among the top contenders in this power range, with a dry weight of 121.3 pounds.
  • The inverter generator can be considered average in its noise for its power category, as it is rated at 72 dBA. If you wish to prioritize minimal noise, the Westinghouse iGen8200TFc stands out as one of the quietest options among generators of similar power, with a rating of 60 dBA.
  • Regarding its runtime, the 201067 operates for up to 10.5 hours at a 25% load, positioning it at the lower spectrum among comparable products. If extended autonomy is what matters most to you, the DuroMax XP9500iHT could be an excellent choice, offering one of the longest run times among units in its power category, reaching up to 21 hours.
  • While run time is vital, it hinges on the fuel capacity. To grasp the full picture, we must also factor in fuel efficiency. When operating at 25% load, the inverter generator's fuel consumption is estimated at 0.41 GPH, placing it within the average range of gasoline usage among similarly powerful devices. If you wish to acquire one of the most gasoline efficient products of this power range, the Westinghouse iGen8200TFc, with a fuel consumption of 0.23 GPH could be in your good books.
