Zoom on the A-iPower SUA7600iED
In summary, the A-iPower SUA7600iED is a portable inverter generator especially useful for:
- Food van owners who know that just a short power outage could lose them hundreds of dollars
- Homeowners in need of an emergency backup power for their essentials
- Camping and tailgating buffs looking to enhance their experience
- RV travellers wishing to enhance their freedom and nomad lifestyle
In the sections ahead, the power characteristics, availability of various outlets, the portability, and any additional features of the device shall be discussed, including its emission compliance information.
Power & Run Time
With its dual-fuel technology, the powerful and versatile A-iPower SUA7600iED provides an output of 120/240V. While gasoline-powered, it gives a running wattage of 6,100W along with a peak wattage of 7,600W. While propane-powered, it provides 5,500 rated watts and 6,900 starting watts. Moreover, since it is parallel capable (parallel kit not included), its power may be increased if linked to a second compatible unit.
A-iPower’s Fuel Sense technology automatically selects the fuel source (LPG or gasoline) depending on availability and prioritizes LPG. Thus, if a propane tank with enough LPG is connected, the generator will automatically use LPG. If the propane cylinder valve is closed, or if there is not enough LPG remaining in the tank, the generator will use gasoline.
With a noise rating of 63 dBA (just slightly more noisy than an office), the inverter generator features a conventional pull-start mechanism, but also a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included).
As for its running time, the SUA7600iED, along with its 3.6 gallons fuel capacity, can run for up to 10 hours with a full tank filled with gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.36 GPH). If propane is used, it can operate for up to 9 hours (estimation based on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.52 GPH).
The SUA7600iED produces a clean sine wave: thanks to a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), your sensitive electronics can be safely plugged in the AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel features the upcoming 4 AC outlets:
In addition, it provides 3 DC outlets: there's a 12V 8A (cigarette lighter style) receptacle with which charging your batteries is made easy and two 5V USB ports (1 x USB-A and 1 x USB-C) allowing you to conveniently charge electronics such as mobile phones and tablets.
While this A-iPower generator is not RV Ready, its L5-30R receptacle can be used for a simple RV connection with an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor. Besides, due to the featured twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, the SUA7600iED is transfer switch ready: you may connect it to a breaker box to power your household during a power outage.
Portability
As the A-iPower SUA7600iED is an inverter generator, its encased design (L28 x W22 x H24 in) offers more aesthetics than a conventional, open frame product. The generator has a contemporary design, convenient for recreationally generating power.
Even though this device may be technically portable (as in movable), manipulation and transportation without special equipment can be a challenge, as it weighs 130 pounds. Nevertheless, it can still be moved quite conveniently with the help of its set of 2 wheels and its telecospic handle, once it is placed on the ground.
Features
A digital data center, one of the features of the SUA7600iED's control panel, gives you information on the fuel level, lifetime run hours, power output, voltage and frequency, and thus, is helpful for the monitoring of its activity and status. To offer you even more control and easy operation during nighttime, the panel is LED-lit.
In addition to this info, when the generator is on overload, the generator is ready and the oil level is too low, you will be informed by the featured light indicators.
From a security point of view, the generator is equipped with an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), giving you a peace of mind during use.
It also includes a carbon monoxide sensor. This sensor is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.
Besides the features previously mentioned, accessory-wise, the A-iPower SUA7600iED comes with the usual documentation and owner's manual needed to get you promptly started.
Emissions
The A-iPower SUA7600iED is EPA-approved and CARB-compliant. Therefore, its sale and purchase are permitted in all of the 50 states, including California.
Moreover, it features a spark arrestor, which makes it suitable for use in forested areas.
The unit also meets the ANSI/PGMA G300-2018 safety and performance requirements.
The A-iPower SUA7600iED versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the A-iPower SUA7600iED compare to generators of similar power (between 5500 and 6500 W).
- Weight-wise, the A-iPower SUA7600iED has only 130 lbs, which renders it one of the lighter generators which produce 5500 to 6500 rated watts. Regarding dry weight, one of the champions in the same power range is the Pulsar G65BN, with a dry weight of only 126 lbs.
- Since this inverter generator is rated for a lowest possible noise of 63 dBA, it can be considered as one of the more quiet of the products generating similar power. If noise emissions are important to you, one of the least noisy generators of this power range is the Honda EU7000iS with only 52 dBA.
- Regarding its autonomy, the autonomy of the SUA7600iED, reaching up to 10 hours at a 25% load, can be considered as low end, compared to other products of a roughly equal output. If concerned with autonomy, one of the products of a comparable power output, which offers the highest run time, is the DuroMax XP7500DX, boasting with up to 18 hours.
- Autonomy holds its importance, however, it is largely dependent on the generator’s fuel capacity and so, it is nonsensible to discuss it without mentioning fuel efficiency as well. Standing at an estimated 0.36 GPH (gallon per hour) at a 25% load, this inverter generator is somewhat average in this area compared to other devices, within the aforementioned wattage range. If you are concerned with gasoline efficiency, having a fuel consumption of just 0.29 GPH, the DuroMax XP7500DX is a device you could look out for.

Unlike many websites, we did our best to research each of the specs above. That being said, we are not immune to making the occasional mistake or omission. Should you notice any missing or incorrect values, don't hesitate to suggest improvements so we can address the issue.
* Propane runtime is our own estimation, based on a 20 lbs tank and NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs of propane = 1 gal of gasoline.
