Description
Zoom on the A-iPower SUA7600iED
In short, the A-iPower SUA7600iED is a portable inverter generator adequately designed for:
- Food truck owners who want to ensure that their business is fully self-contained and does not rely on potentially unreliable external power
- Homeowners in need of an emergency backup power for their essentials
- RV travellers looking for even more independence
The subsequent sections will explore in detail its power characteristics, the diverse outlets it provides, its overall portability, and the supplementary features it offers.
Power & Run Time
The dual-fuel technology of the A-iPower SUA7600iED allows for an output of 120/240V and provides superb power and versatility. If gasoline-powered, the device provides a running wattage of 6,100W and a starting wattage of 7,600W. If propane-powered, it gives 5,500 rated watts and 6,900 starting watts. Furthermore, its parallel capability (PK12000 (opens in a new tab) not included) allows for increasing of power output when connected to another similar or compatible unit, ensuring expanded energy capacity and reliability for various applications.
A-iPower’s Fuel Sense technology automatically selects the fuel source (LPG or gasoline) depending on availability and prioritizes LPG. Thus, if a propane tank with enough LPG is connected, the generator will automatically use LPG. If the propane cylinder valve is closed, or if there is not enough LPG remaining in the tank, the generator will use gasoline.
Operating with a noise rating of 66 dBA (less noisy than an office), this inverter generator offers two starting options: a simple traditional pull-start mechanism and a no-fuss and convenient electric starter (battery included).
Regarding its running time, the SUA7600iED, with a 3.6 gallons fuel capacity, can operate for up to 10 hours with a full tank of gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.36 GPH). When using propane, it can run for up to 11.2 hours (on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.42 GPH).
Sensitive electronics can be safely plugged in the AC outlets, as the SUA7600iED produces a clean sine wave, with a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
Outlets
The control panel features the upcoming 4 AC outlets:
Moreover, it presents 3 DC outlets: there's a 12V 8A (cigarette lighter style) receptacle allowing you to easily charge your batteries and two 5V USB ports (1 x USB-A and 1 x USB-C) allowing you to conveniently charge electronics such as mobile phones and tablets.
This A-iPower generator isn't quite RV Ready, but it features an L5-30R receptacle, allowing a simple RV connection through an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor (included). Besides, since the SUA7600iED bears a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, it is transfer switch ready: it is easily connectible to a breaker box and can power your home in case of a power outage.
Portability
With an inverter generator design, the A-iPower SUA7600iED features a closed construction (L28 x W22 x H24 in), enhancing aesthetics and ensuring reduced noise levels, offering a distinct advantage over standard, open frame generators. The featured design follows the latest trends and is ideal for easy and recreational use.
Even at 130 lbs, the generator is categorized as 'portable,' suggesting its movability, although its weight may impede its portability. Nevertheless, thanks to its set of 2 wheels (⌀7") and its telescopic handle (a decent solution to its lack of maneuverability), the generator can be easily moved, once placed the ground.
Features
With a digital data center integrated into its control panel, the SUA7600iED provides real-time insights into the power output, voltage, fuel level, frequency and lifetime run hours, enabling easy monitoring of its status and activity. To offer you even more control and easy operation during nighttime, the panel is LED-lit.
In addition to this info, some light indicators allow you to instantly see if the oil level is too low, the generator is on overload and the generator is ready.
Security-wise, this product benefits from an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, which gives you a complete peace of mind when using it.
It also includes a carbon monoxide sensor. This sensor is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.
Along the basic documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab), useful for starting the generator right away, the A-iPower SUA7600iED's package also includes these accessories: battery charging cables, RV adapter, oil, propane hose, tool kit and battery charger.
The A-iPower SUA7600iED versus other generators
The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the A-iPower SUA7600iED compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 5500 and 6500 W).
- As its weight is 130 pounds, the A-iPower SUA7600iED falls in the expected weight range of the inverters in the 5500-6500 rated wattage category. Regarding dry weight, one of the champions in the same power range is the Genmax GM6250iET, with a dry weight of only 102.6 lbs.
- This inverter generator, with its lowest noise level at 66 dBA, is noisier than most generators of comparable running wattage. If noise level is one your key decisive factors, you may find the Honda EU7000iS appealing. It's rated at 52 dBA, making it one of the quietest generators in its power range.
- Autonomy-wise, with up to 10 hours on a full tank at a 25% load, the SUA7600iED is on the low end when compared to other inverter generators of a similar power output. If you consider autonomy on a single full tank as one of the deciding factors, one of the generators in the same power range that offers the highest run time is the DuroMax XP7000iHT, with up to 16 hours.
- While the run time is an important parameter, it is dependent on the fuel tank's capacity and thus, doesn't say much on its own unless we consider fuel consumption as well. This inverter generator is somewhat less fuel-efficient than devices of comparable output: its estimated fuel consumption reaches 0.36 GPH at a 25% load. To prioritize fuel savings, we advise considering the DuroMax XP7000iHT, which stands out for its gasoline efficiency, consuming just 0.19 gallons per hour.

Why is the spec on Amazon only 120v yet clearly there is a 240 volt outlet. In the answers section they say it’s 120v. What’s that all about? Can I safely buy on Amazon and get the 240v? It appears to be a typo but I have to be sure before ordering. (Asked April 05, 2024)
The unit can provide 240V via its L14-30R outlet. As of today, the Amazon listing page seems to be for a group of units (there's a "style" switcher leading to 1500W, 2300W, and several other units). Any answered question there could therefore be for any of the units present in the switcher.
Can I install a remote start kit to it? Is there such a kit available? (Asked July 29, 2024)
There are no official remote start kits.
Where is the power cord to plug into the outdoor outlet to power the solar batteries (Asked November 05, 2024)
The unit does not come with any cords.
