Power & Run Time

The A-iPower SUA4300i in use

The A-iPower SUA4300i

The A-iPower SUA4300i is powered by a 149 cc OHV 4-stroke engine. It delivers 120V, runs on gasoline and offers a running wattage of 3,450W as well as a peak wattage of 4,300W. Furthermore, the parallel capability (PK6000 parallel kit not included) offers the advantage of increasing power output when connected to another similar or compatible unit, delivering expanded energy capacity and flexibility for various applications.

At a noise rating of 62 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a normal conversation), the inverter generator is started via a traditional recoil pull-start mechanism.

Featuring a 1.6 gallon fuel tank, the SUA4300i provides continuous power for up to 7.5 hours on a full tank (fuel consumption around 0.21 GPH).

As the SUA4300i produces a clean sine wave, with a <3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), sensitive electronics may be plugged in the AC outlets safely.

Outlets

The control panel provides the upcoming 3 AC outlets:

Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R)
120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle

Moreover, it comes equipped with 3 DC outlets: there's a 12V 8A (cigarette lighter style) receptacle providing easy battery charging capabilities and two 5V USB ports (1 x USB-A and 1 x USB-C) allowing you to conveniently charge electronics such as mobile phones and tablets.

Even if this A-iPower generator isn't quite RV Ready, it still allows for an easy RV connection via an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor (included), thanks to its L5-30R receptacle.

Portability

The A-iPower SUA4300i is distinguished by its enclosed inverter generator design (L22 x W14.4 x H20.3 in), providing improved aesthetics and quieter performance compared to traditional, open frame units. This modern design aims to provide an ideal power solution to recreational users.

Weighing 52.9 lbs, the SUA4300i is easily handled, ensuring it can go wherever your power needs are. Moreover, its set of 2 wheels and its telescopic handle facilitate movement of the generator once it's on the ground.

Features

The SUA4300i's control panel

Designed with a digital data center, the control panel of the SUA4300i grants you access to crucial data on the voltage, lifetime run hours, frequency, fuel level and power output, ensuring practical monitoring of its status and activity. To offer you even more control and easy operation during nighttime, the panel is LED-lit.

In addition to this info, light indicators on the device will signal if the oil level is too low and the generator is overloaded.

As far as security is concerned, the generator can be used with a peace of mind, as it features an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker).

It also includes a carbon monoxide sensor. This sensor is designed to monitor the level of carbon monoxide present during the generator's operation. If the generator is positioned incorrectly and carbon monoxide levels rise to an unsafe level, the generator will automatically shut down.

Besides the classic documentation and an owner's manual (opens in a new tab) to get you promptly started, the A-iPower SUA4300i also comes with some accessories: funnel, battery charging cables, tool kit, oil and RV adapter are included.

The A-iPower SUA4300i versus other generators

The following charts are provided to give you an idea of how some of the key specs of the A-iPower SUA4300i compare to inverter generators of similar power (between 2500 and 3500 W).

  • In terms of its dry weight, the A-iPower SUA4300i stands at only 52.9 lbs, meaning that is one of the lighter inverters of the 2500-3500 rated wattage category If you are concerned by weight, one of the champions in the above-mentioned power range is the Pulsar PGD40iSCO, with a dry weight of just 46 pounds.
  • Because this inverter generator emits noise as low as 62 dBA, it can be considered to have a pretty average expected noise rating for a device of its power. If you value reduced noise levels, the Honda EU3000iS could be worth considering. It's one of the quietest generators in its power range, rated at 50 dBA.
  • As for its autonomy, the SUA4300i, with an autonomy of up to 7.5 hours at a 25% load, is placed on the low end among the generators of its kind. If you wish to prioritize autonomy, the Champion 200977 shines as one of the top contenders, offering one of the highest run times among generators with similar power output, totaling up to 22 hours.
  • The run time is important, but also hugely depends on the capacity of the fuel tank and doesn't mean much if we don't talk about fuel consumption as well. Compared to its peers, this inverter generator is not exactly fuel-efficient, compared to similarly powerful devices, with an estimated fuel consumption of 0.21 GPH at a 25% load. If you're placing a high priority on fuel consumption, the Honda EU3200i, with a low fuel consumption rate of 0.14 GPH, could be an option to consider.
