In the back of your mind you have to be asking yourself “Then why would the Honda cost so much more”? Answer: the Honda will last a lifetime of hard use. If you only need a generator for a few short term needs, say less than 48 hrs a year, go for the Westinghouse. If you just can’t afford a breakdown, need 100% reliability in emergencies and/or might be needing it to run 24 hrs/day for a week or more in an emergency, Honda is the better choice. Honda inverters have documented over 25,000 hrs of use before a rebuild and Honda parts for a total rebuild are always available. I own a 12 and 15 year old EU2000i and have never had issues using them. The Westinghouse is probably good for the needs of 75% of the folks out there, but long term the Honda is a more reliable and dependable investment. Just my $0.02.
Dont forget to talk about money…. One costs 2/3 of the other. That means a lot of money that stays in your pocket if you go blue.

I have been vacilating and waffling over a portable generator purchase. I already own one larger Honda Generator which is not portable but is built with quality. Your presentation compared the two I was considering and based on your recommendation Honda is a no brainer. So thanks!
To be fair, the guy could have tested the claims of running each generator on a tank of gas with an eco mode load of say 400W, but instead he inferred the Westinghouse might be lying about fuel efficiency and run time. Also since both have a 3 year warrantee, is the quality really that bad on the Westinghouse? After all there are 3 other manufacturers putting their good names on virtually identical generators, and Westinghouse is a name renown for electrical appliances after all. All in all, I had a very hard time deciding which to buy after watching this video, so I decided to steer clear of fanboy bias and try the Westinghouse anyways.
