Power Comparison

The following charts are provided to show you at a glance how the main specs of the DuroMax XP9000iH compare to the Predator 9500.

  • Fuel: The DuroMax XP9000iH is a dual fuel generator. Thus, it has the advantage of being able to run either on gasoline or propane, whereas the other generator only runs on gasoline.
  • Power: As both the DuroMax XP9000iH and the Predator 9500 share the same running wattage of 7,600W, they will both allow you to simultaneously power the same appliances. However, compared to the 9,000 starting watts of the DuroMax XP9000iH, the Predator 9500 and its starting wattage of 9,500 W will give more power to start the appliances which require an additional boost to get their motor running.
  • Runtime: When loaded to 25% of their max capacity, the DuroMax XP9000iH offers a higher runtime on a full tank than the Predator 9500: it can operate for up to 20 hours, whereas the Predator 9500 offers a maximum runtime of 18.5 hours.
  • Fuel Efficiency: With a gasoline consumption at 25% load of 0.35 GPH (gallon per hour), the DuroMax XP9000iH is more fuel efficient than the Predator 9500 and its 0.37 GPH. The former's operation will therefore cost less in terms of the money spent on gasoline. Inverter generators like these 2 are of the most fuel efficient (and quiet) type.
  • THD: Both generators offer a low THD (<3% for the DuroMax XP9000iH and <5% for the Predator 9500) and are therefore perfectly suitable to safely power your sensitive electronic devices.
  • Noise: With 67 dBA, the noise emitted by the Predator 9500 is slightly lower than the 68 dBA of the DuroMax XP9000iH. While this difference could seem insignificant, the former should still be easier on your ears.

Portability Comparison

  • Bulkiness: With dimensions of L27" x W21" x H25", the DuroMax XP9000iH offers a much more compact experience of power generation than the Predator 9500 and its L31" x W23.8" x H28.9".
  • Weight: With a weight of 237 lbs, the XP9000iH is slightly less heavy than the 9500 (which weighs 257 lbs).
  • Portability: Both products benefit from a set of wheels, which greatly enhances their maneuverability. Both offer a folding handle, which improves your grip when you wish to move them around.

Feature Comparison

  • Starting System: Both devices can be started either via a pull-start mechanism or an electric starter. The DuroMax XP9000iH offers another layer of convenience, as it can be remotely started.
  • Outlets: With a total of 6 AC outlets, the Predator 9500 offers more AC receptacles than the DuroMax XP9000iH, which has 5 AC outlets. Yet, they both feature GFCI outlets. Both of them also feature a DC output. In addition, it is worth noting that they can both produce either 120 or 240V. For more detailed information regarding all their respective receptacles, refer to the DuroMax XP9000iH's and the Predator 9500's product pages.
  • Data Center & Fuel Gauge: Each of these 2 portable generators is equipped with a data center allowing you to conveniently monitor some aspects of the power output. Besides that, these 2 products are fitted with a fuel gauge allowing to see their fuel level at a glance.
  • Technology: They both benefit from a technology that monitors the ambient CO level. For the DuroMax XP9000iH, it's the CO Alert technology, whereas it's the CO Secure for the Predator 9500.
  • Warranty: The DuroMax XP9000iH benefits from a significantly longer warranty. It is covered for up to 3 years, while the Predator unit is only covered for up to 90 days without purchasing a warranty extension.

  1. How reliable are they say after 1000 hours? Brand new everything should work it’s after being used for hours that what counts . And to be honest your comparison is useless. For example search the ads like Craigslist and Facebook market place it’s full of used almost new generators see which one is most often listed!
