As the Powerhorse LC3500i and the Predator 3500 do not share the same manufacturer, their overall build and technology in use can vary.
Power Comparison
The following charts are provided to show you at a glance how the main specs of the Predator 3500 compare to the Powerhorse LC3500i.
- Power: As both the Predator 3500 and the Powerhorse LC3500i share the same running wattage of 3,000W, they will both allow you to simultaneously power the same appliances. In addition, as the 2 generators have the same starting watts (3,500 W), they will both give you the same boost needed to start the motor of your most demanding appliances.
- Runtime: At a 25% load, these 2 portable generators offer the same runtime on a full tank. Each of them will be able to deliver power for up to 11 hours.
- Fuel Efficiency: At the same load as mentioned above (i.e. 25%), both generators will approximately burn 0.24 gallon of gasoline per hour. Inverter generators like these 2 are of the most fuel efficient (and quiet) type.
- THD: Both generators offer a low THD (<5% for the Predator 3500 and <2% for the Powerhorse LC3500i) and are therefore perfectly suitable to safely power your sensitive electronic devices.
- Noise: With 56 dBA, the noise emitted by the Predator 3500 is slightly lower than the 57 dBA of the Powerhorse LC3500i. While this difference could seem insignificant, the former should still be easier on your ears.
Portability Comparison
- Bulkiness: As these two products share the same overall bulk, neither of them will really take up less storage space.
- Weight: With a weight of 99.2 lbs, the LC3500i is slightly less heavy than the 3500 (which weighs 102 lbs).
- Portability: Both products benefit from a set of wheels, which greatly enhances their maneuverability. Both offer a double handle, which improves your grip when you wish to move them around.
Feature Comparison
- Starting System: Both devices can be started either via a pull-start mechanism or an electric starter.
- Outlets: The Predator 3500 and the Powerhorse LC3500i both offer 3 AC outlets. None of them feature GFCI outlets. Both of them also feature a DC output. In addition, it is worth noting that they both only produce 120V. For more detailed information regarding all their respective receptacles, refer to the Predator 3500's and the Powerhorse LC3500i's product pages.
- Data Center & Fuel Gauge: Each of these 2 portable generators is equipped with a data center allowing you to conveniently monitor some aspects of the power output. Besides that, thanks to a fitted fuel gauge, the Predator 3500 provides instant visibility of the fuel level.
- Technology: The Predator 3500 benefits from a welcomed additional security feature: its CO Secure technology monitors carbon monoxide and automatically shuts off the generator if the ambient levels become unsafe.
- Warranty: The Powerhorse LC3500i benefits from a significantly longer warranty. It is covered for up to 2 years, while the Predator unit is only covered for up to 90 days without purchasing a warranty extension.

I own the 3500 Powerhouse and have needed it twice during power outages. I powered both of my refrigerator’s and our TV with absolutely no issues. I have a wood stove for an additional heat source, so have not used for heat. The Powerhouse is very quiet I have to go outside to hear it. Would recommend to anyone.
